What the page is for

The Replacement Priority page scores each computer on the signs that it is near the end of its useful life, using details the Lavawall agent collects. It shows the computer's age, operating system, memory, drives, battery health and charge cycles, TPM security chip and temperature history, and gives each computer a priority. The highest priorities are listed first.

As a guide, the page notes that laptops typically hold about 80% of their battery capacity until around 500 charge cycles, which is roughly three years of service.

What you see

  1. Computers filter: limit the list to computers seen in the last 30, 90 or 365 days, or Show all.
  2. Table tools: Copy, CSV, Excel, Print, search panes, Show rows and a search box.
  3. Priority table: Priority, Device, Company, User, Year, OS, RAM, Drives, Battery, Degradation, Charge Cycles, TPM, Temp History and Last Seen.

How to use Replacement Priority

How to build a replacement list

  1. Select the company, or all companies, in the company picker.
  2. Leave Computers on Seen in last 30 days so retired machines do not appear.
  3. The table is sorted by Priority, highest first. Work down from the top.
  4. Click Excel or CSV to take the list into a budget or quote.

How to narrow the list

  1. Type in the search box, for example a user's name or an OS version.
  2. Use the search panes button to filter by column values.
  3. Click any column heading to sort, for example by Year or Degradation.

Tips

  • High battery Degradation or many Charge Cycles on a laptop is often cheaper to fix with a battery replacement than a new computer.
  • Check the TPM column when planning operating system upgrades.
  • Last Seen dates are shown in your local time.

Troubleshooting

  • "You have not added any Devices yet." No computers match the company and filter. Click Add computers to install the Lavawall agent, or choose Show all.
  • A computer is missing. It has not checked in within the chosen period. Change Computers to Show all.
  • "Could not load data". Click Retry.
